Setting up Email Account with Outlook Express

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Go to "Tools" and click on "Accounts"

3. When the "Internet Accounts" window appears, select "Add", then select "Mail".

4. The Internet Connection Wizard will be launched. Enter your name where it says "Display name:" and click "Next" at the bottom right.

5. Enter your e-mail address in the input box. Then click Next.

6. Setting up e-mail server names:

  1. Select "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server."
  2. In the Incoming mail field type mail.yourdomain.com
    (examples: mail.wethinksolutions.com, mail.webpartners.ca - yourdomain.com is the portion of your assigned email address after the "@" symbol).
  3. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field type: mail.yourdomain.com

    Important Note: Some Internet Service Providers (ISP's) require that you use THEIR outgoing SMTP server instead of mail.yourdomain.com. This will become apparent if you are unable to send e-mail after finishing this setup. In this case, please do the following:

    • If your ISP is Rogers Cable, the outgoing SMTP server should be: smtp.broadband.rogers.com... you may also be required to add your new email account to your Rogers/Yahoo email setup as a "third-party account". To do this, visit http://mail.yahoo.ca and login using your rogers e-mail account and password. Select "My Account" near the top of the screen. In the My Account area, look for "Alternate Email Information" and add your new email account to the list.
    • If your ISP is Bell Sympatico, the outgoing SMTP server should be: smtp1.sympatico.ca
    • If your ISP is none of the above or if you experience difficulties, call us at 1-800-231-1020
  4. Click Next .
7. Type your email address into the field labelled "Account Name" and type the Password provided by your Administrator into the "Password" field.
